Dissertation thesis supervised by Frieder Nake and Claus Pias. The thesis discusses how play, as defined by Huizinga, can occur in everyday computing and compares this view of computer use to other perspectives in human-computer interaction, i.e. communication, simulation, interactive narrative, and ubiquitous computing.
